As an affiliate of the United States Eye Injury Registry, the Minnesota Eye Injury Registry (MEIR) is the central data collection point for eye injuries in Minnesota. The project, administered by SHA, collects population-based data to document eye injury demographics, type and severity of injuries and health outcomes. The purpose of MEIR is twofold: to collect data on eye injuries in order to develop more focused prevention programs and to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment procedures.
